Unlike other traditional analytics packages, we calculate the duration of a visit by subtracting the first action time from the last action time. This is as accurate as we can get with an event driven analytics tool such as FoxMetrics. Once we receive the first action for a visit we start the timer and we keep counting until the visit expires or a new one is created, each new action tells the timer that the visit is still alive.
